Letter From Our Pastor, John Gillespie

Dear Fellow Servant, Pastor or Friend,

Missions truly is the heartbeat of the Church! This is of course places missionaries at the forefront of every church as we obey the Great Commandment.
The problem we all face as Pastors is finding those who have a true calling, a burden and a heart for ministry.
I have received many recommendation letters that say essentially, “This is the one, you must support him.” While this may be true in your heart and in your church, it may not necessarily be the direction God is leading us here at Grace Baptist Church.
So, I am not asking you to support Matt and Sandra Guerra. I’m humbly asking you to meet them, pray with them and respond as God leads you.
I do believe that God has called them to an essential ministry. I am confident in its roots coming out of Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma. I have personally witnessed their faithfulness to the Lord as they minister here at Grace Baptist Church.
Matt and Sandra have served in so many different ministries that it will be difficult to fill their shoes. Yet, it will be a joy to see them used by God in this wonderful ministry. Matt has done janitorial, maintenance and instruction here at Grace. He has taught Sunday School, worked in a deaf ministry, headed up the Children’s Church, filled the Pulpit and served in every way I have asked.
Regardless of your decision, I will be praying for you, your church and the work of Missions around the world.

Because Of HIS Grace
